the ghost has come on a midnight train,
cleverly hiding in the place you wouldn’t see.
she has taken your hand
and led you astray,
she has tricked you with whistles,
she has bribed you with May.
the devil has tricks and there’s more up her sleeve;
she has bound up my mouth
and poured cement in my dreams.
she has come as a ghost and she’s taken you away,
disguised as a memory of love, then disease.
